Million Dollar Waterfalls and Golden Roads

This blog is so late from when we took the trip but is also in timely fashion for the upcoming fall colors in September and October!

Near the end of September 2017, Mike and I embarked on our five state trip. We were going to hit Nevada, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona. Unfortunately, we didn't make Arizona! This blog is about a small portion of the trip. What they call the Million Dollar Highway and Last Dollar Road. I'm not sure if they call it the Million Dollar Highway because of the million dollar views or because it took a million dollars to build!

The Million Dollar Highway extends from Durango up to Silverton. You will pass Red Mountain Mining District. It's an amazing ride!

We then cut over The Last Dollar Road for some epic fall colors.

We even encountered wildlife along the way!

It made for a long day but was well worth it. I think if I were to do it again I would split it up into two days so that I could spend more time photographing!
