That Place Is A Dump!
In my small town, up by the dump, is the cutest little shack (for lack of a better word). I had often wondered what the story was behind it. I had also meant to get up there and photograph it but you know how life always gets in the way!
One cold, dreary day found me up at the dump with one of my cameras and lensbaby lens photographing the place. Once the photograph was posted on my Facebook page all the stories started coming out.
It turns out that the guy that used to run the dump built this cool little place. His name was Rob the Dump Guy and the shack was called the Dump Shack. She told me that it used to be carpeted and super cozy. She has fond memories of going to work with her dad, hanging out in the shack and having soup for lunch. He actually ran a little gift shop out of it! It became so well known that tour groups would come out!
Then Rob the Dump Guy weighed in! He said that he used to have Shasta College come out every week to visit him. The Board of Supervisors would visit as well.
I can only imagine the work that went into this little place. It now sits abandoned at the entrance to the dump.
