Slip, Slidin' Away............

Recently I made a trip to a local waterfall called Montgomery Creek Falls. I had been there before, however, I had never ventured down to the bottom of it. I had read that there was a trail down to the bottom and I wanted to check it out. So I talked my daring Friend Wally into making the trek with me! He was game for it. I'm glad that I took him with me because the trail down was sketchy for me by my standards. I used to do stuff like this by myself, much to my mother's dismay, but have taken a different approach to life lately!

This waterfall is much different from the bottom. It's gorgeous. Unfortunately, the steep descent has not hindered others from making the trek down and leaving their trash. Why can't people just carry their crap out?

Anyhow, here are a couple of shots from the bottom of the waterfall. The first shot doesn't give you any idea of how tall the waterfall is. I like the second shot because you have the bridge to kind of give you an idea of the height. Let's just say that if a person fell off the bridge you would be a goner for sure.

After dragging myself back to the top, we went above the bridge to the little waterfall. I loved this spot! I loved the leading lines that this one possessed. The little dam led my eye through the shot. It was an enchanting little waterfall. I guess this is the happening place as far as a swimming hole!

Overall this waterfall was super cool. You just have to be careful not to get too close to the edge. Also, watch your kids and your dogs on this one!

I have to do a shout out to Wally for reconning this place for me and then going with me.

DIRECTIONS:

From Redding, California, take HWY 299E about 35 miles or so towards Montgomery Creek. Turn left at Montgomery Creek Falls Road. Park by the bridge. It's right there.
