Let's Get Crazy!

So most people would say that I am a bit crazy. They may be right. I recently partnered with the Cities of Redding and Anderson, in addition to LOCAL's Gallery , to instruct some classes over the summer. Not just a few but 20 of them. Yes, I may be a bit crazy. I'm actually kind of excited!

The book for the Redding classes will be online May 1st. The majority of the 20 classes will be through them.

Below are brief descriptions and the dates.

Exploring Lightpainting - There will be three classes held. This class will explore the use of outside light (such as a flashlight) to highlight a subject of your choice. The two examples below are both lightpaintings

Getting to Know Your Camera - Three classes will be held. So many times I run across someone that is frustrated with their camera, so much so, they just put it away. This class will help frustrated individuals come together with their camera!

Beginning Lightroom Editing - Three classes will be held. The class will explore how to edit a photograph with Adobe Lightroom CC. It's a basic class that is meant to be fun, yet informative, and take your photographic creativeness to a new level! I know that everyone else has felt the same frustration that I have after photographing. You go home, you download, and you are like "these are horrible"! Well, there is so much that can be done with editing to make them masterpieces!

Landscape Photography Basics - Photographing Water: There will be two classes held. These will be out at Whiskeytown National Recreation Area. I love photographing water if you haven't noticed! This class will take a look at the different effects that the photographer has control over when photographing water. Water really isn't that hard to photograph when it's explained to you!

Landscape Photography Intermediate - Photographing Water: There will be two classes held. These too will be held at Whiskeytown National Recreation Area. This class is for those that have some experience photographing water or for those that have a desire to learn! During this class we will hike into Brandy Creek Falls and photograph. This waterfall is by far my favorite one in the park.

Basics of Landscape Photography: This class is for all skill levels. It will be held at Whiskeytown National Recreation Area. I'm leaning towards the Towerhouse Area. This class will help with composition and settings that make a photograph flow. This class will be a melding of creative minds, so to speak! There are so many things to photograph in this particular location that I am sure we will keep busy!

How am I going to do all these classes? I'm not sure but when you are passionate about a subject you seem to find the time!

The Anderson classes are still being scheduled but as soon as they are established, they will be posted on my website and Facebook Page.

I look forward to this new endeavor and hope to see some familiar faces there as well as make some new friends!
